Department of Computer Science & Information Technology

Code, Create, Innovate

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology offers three challenging, yet very rewarding, degree programs: a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Students of the department have gone on to have various achievements and have even presented at conferences across the country.

A dedicated staff of eight faculty members serves the programs. The faculty members are professionally active on the national and regional levels through their research and their professional affiliation with the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). They maintain relevant Cybersecurity designations such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

The CS & IT department has two dedicated labs. The Hoyt Warner Lab is a communal study and social space with faculty offices located around the perimeter. This space contains tables for studying, an overhead projector, and computers for student use and is entirely maintained by students. The IT Lab is a space containing servers and a network that can be isolated from the internet. This space is used for hands-on network and security activities.
